Trimwork & Moulding

Trimwork is one of the simplest ways to add class and elegance to any room. There are many different typs of trim, moulding, and baseboards, so I will first explain the different materials trim is made from.

Primed MDF- this is compressed cardboard and usually comes pre-primed white. It is the least expensive material, but is quite durable. This materials tend to absorb moisture, thus works best in ares such as bedrooms, living rooms, and hallways. Its can be used in areas of high moisture but must be painted with a suitable paint to seal the product.

Fingerjoint pine- is made up of several pieces of wood joined together, and is usually pre-primed or paper wrapped. Is also inexpensive.

Sanded wood- is the more expensive material. It is used when a stained wood look is desired.

Molded abs plastic- Is used in areas of high moisture. Is water and mold resistent.
